THE ORIGIN
A story that starts at home
Every movement has a beginning.
Ours began with a mother who refused to let her son's disability define his future.
Watching an educator dedicate her life to a child born with cerebral palsy changed everything. It revealed not only the strength of one child, but also the reality that so many children with disabilities face — a fight for opportunities that should simply exist.
Years later, working as a special needs teacher confirmed what we have assessed for years: the greatest barrier was never the child or their abilities — it was the systems around them. Classrooms without adequate training, families navigating the journey alone, policies that prioritised inclusion but never reached the children who needed them most.
That is why The Enabled Child (TEC) exists.
We are building a future where inclusive education is available as a standard. Through advocacy, teacher development, research, strategic partnerships, and policy engagement, we are working to ensure that every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to learn, belong, and thrive.
